One of Mountain View’s little known secrets is the Stone Amphitheater in the City Park. It is adjacent to the 1/2 mile paved walking track located on West Webb Street. Just a short stroll down the creek side on the east of the parking area you will find this tranquil location, perfect for for weddings, concerts, or just relaxing and meditating. Woodland walking trails lead from from the Stone Amphitheater to other areas of the City Park or along the creek to the Ozark Folk Center. Syllamore Mountain Bike Trail

Sylamore Bike

Nestled in the Sylamore District of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, the Syllamo Trail is one the finest purpose-built mountain bike trail systems in the country. Arranged in four intertwined loops, the 50 miles of trail provides options for an all-day epic, or for shorter tours. The terrain offers something for everyone: plenty of rolling single track invites the less experienced riders, but those same trails, when ridden at speed, get fast, furious and fun. The technical limestone block sections and the burly rock steps will widen the eyes of seasoned riders.

White River

The White River is the Premier Trout Stream that offers excellent fishing for 120 Miles. The trout fishing begins just below the Bull Shoals Dam and travels past Guion, Ar where the water warms to point it is unable to support Trout. Also feeding the White is the North Fork of The White following from Lake Norfork at Norfork, AR. This five mile stretch is excellent for Brown Trout. Many "Boat Docks" also offer just "Boat Rides for those not interested in fishing. The White River has limited access points which supports many wildlife species. Especially the Bald Eagle which are spotted frequently. On my last river outing I watched "mama" an Eagle lead her "eaglets" from the nest. These little brown furry birds followed "mama" as she glided down the river "squawking " at her "youngin's. Any boat trip is SO peaceful and tranquil. Another popular attraction is the National Fish Hatchery at Lake Norfork Dam. Tours are offered daily. Fishing Guides and Boat Rentals available at Angler's Resort OR at Jack's Resort

Music is the central theme for Mountain View. Music can be found At Blue Shy RV Park, on the square, individual music venues, and at the Ozark Folk Center. If you play an instrument, simply ask to it down a group on the square and "pick" a while. Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy the original Ozark Sound.
